The gypsum reliefs are created as individual modules of pure, unadorned handcast gypsum blocks of different thicknesses and sizes, mounted and framed in maple wood. The vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines generate a near-complete gray scale of light and shadow on the material’s porous white surface. Through the application of the elementary rectangular shapes, she obtains an asymmetrical final geometry, with an abstract shape and line composition that can be read both vertically and horizontally. Each piece is crafted to showcase the natural beauty of gypsum, with intricate details and a three-dimensional effect. The maple wood frame complements the gypsum perfectly, creating a seamless and elegant look.
