65 large, draped tapestries in blueprint, also called cyanotype, based on a series of photographs characteristic of her production, translated into the blueprint. For this she used various textiles of linen, velour, canvas, cotton and antique linen found in foreign markets giving the blueprints different characters in intensity and depth. The preliminary work for this took place at the honorary residence of Dansk Tennis Fond in the island of Bornholm during summer 2022 and was generously supported by Danmarks Nationalbanks Jubilæumsfond and later in autumn by Statens Værksteder for Kunst.

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that creates a distinctive blue and white image. The process involved treating different types of fabric with a mixture of potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate, which when exposed to UV light, creates a chemical reaction that results in the distinctive blue color.

The prints include; Motifs of Birgitte Due Madsens sculpture archive, technical drawings of ‘H-series’, close-up of a gypsum casting process and portrait of ‘Poly Table’ shot by photographer Rikke Westesen.

The cyanotypes are made for an exhibition at Tableau in January 2023.
